Winner of the Mo Award for Musical Theatre Performer of the Year, show business is in Wayne Scott Kermond's blood. "Born in a trunk", Wayne is a fourth generation performer of the Kermond family. As a young child he learnt to tread the boards while travelling and performing alongside his parents throughout Australia and America.

His family tradition has enabled Wayne to acquire skills, such as singing, tap-dancing, acrobating and slapstick comedy. When he was 11 years old Wayne was introduced to Musical Theatre when Betty Pounder cast him as a Tap dancing sailor in Gypsy at Her Majesty's Theatre Sydney with Gloria Dawn and Toni Lamond.

Wayne Scott Kermond then kicked started his career by co-starring in the musical Barnum - playing the part of the smallest man in the world, Tom Thumb. He went on to perform in Westside Story, playing the youngest member of the Jet Gang, Baby John. Wayne's Musical Theatre credits include the roles of Waxy Collins in the Sydney Theatre Company's Jonah Jones, Joey Perhaps in the national tour of Guys & Dolls, HMS Pinafore with Paul Eddington, and the forlorn comedian Andrew Courtney in Seven Little Australians.

Wayne Scott Kermond is also frequently seen in other theatre roles such as, Mike ' I Can Do That' in A Chorus Line, Arab in the IMG production of Westside Story, and the Australian production of Chicago. Wayne Scott Kermond has also won acclaim for his starring roles as Buttons and Wishy-Washy in the pantomimes Cinderella and Aladdin at the State Theatre.

Always in pursuit of a challenge, Wayne Scott Kermond conceived, co-wrote, produced and stared in the contemporary Australian Musical Comedy, Jive Junkys. Opening at Glen St. Theatre to a sell-out season, it went on to receive a touring grant through Playing Australia, enabling the show to undertake an extensive tour of Australia. Jive Junkys accepted an invitation to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, receiving five star reviews and a coveted 'Pick of the Fringe' Award.

Wayne's television and feature film credits include dramatic roles in The Shiralee for the South Australian Film Corporation, Boof Marsh in the mini-series The Heroes, and the sequel Heroes 2 - The Return, which broke all ratings records as the most watched mini-series in the UK. And recently Wayne Scott Kermond co-starred in Kings in Grass Castles, the four-part mini-series shot on location in Australia and Ireland, playing the role of Stumpy-Michael.
