In December 2000, the American hit reality TV show “Survivor” hired Hip Fidelity for their “Survivor Australian Outback” break-up party at the secret North Queensland Tablelands location to perform for the 250 Australian and American crew on the last night of shooting the series.
At their 1997 club residency at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers Surabaya, Indonesia, Irish boy band “Boyzone”, while on their Asian tour, requested and performed with the 5-piece Hip Fidelity line-up. Also while in Indonesia, Hip Fidelity were solely featured for two 1-hour TV music shows on the national Indonesian television station “TVRI”.

Multi-talented musician James Barr plays keyboard, guitar, produces live sound and is Musical Director of Hip Fidelity! Since 1991, James' travels have taken him from Queensland down the east coast of Australia and overseas performing in a multitude of venues and exotic locations to TV appearances and supporting big name artists.
Performances and clients include; Australian Consulate - Shanghai China, Hilton Hotel International - Shanghai China, Marina Mandarin - Singapore, Sheraton Hotel & Towers - Surabaya Indonesia, Honeywell, Qantas, IBM, Ericsson, Carlton & United Breweries.
James has also performed with Irish boy band Boyzone and for Bridgestone in Italy and PlaceMakers in New Zealand.
damian de-boos smith
Born and bred in Sydney Australia, Damian's diverse talents include composer, film scoring, as well as being an accomplished cellist and guitarist. Damian has established himself as an award winning musician for film scoring and won the 2001 Tropfest Award - Best Original Score for Film 'Playin' Hard to Get' with Giant Steps as well as being the guitarist for musicals "Grease", Ben Elton's "We Will Rock You" and "The Lion King".
A highly versatile instrumentalist on guitar, cello and piano as well as an award-winning composer, with extensive sound recording and mixing experience.
Damian's recent live performance credits include; "We Will Rock You - The Queen and Ben Elton Musical" as deputy electric and acoustic guitar, "The Lion King"as deputy electric and acoustic guitar, "The House Plus - La Casa Alba" as flamenco guitarist, cellist and pianist for the flamenco play starring Antonio Vargas, Olympic Games Entertainment at Darling Harbour Sydney, "Chicago - The Musical" as deputy banjo / mandolin / ukulele, Grease The Arena Spectacular as electric and acoustic guitarist for the Australian and New Zealand stadium tours.

Stuart has many years experience working both internationally and within Australia as a sought after drummer and musical director. He has performed with a multitude of bands for clients including the Sultan of Brunei in the palace, to show bands touring Malaysia, Thailand and Europe.
Stuarts performances have included; "Imageries by the Glass" nightclub Bangkok as Musical Director and drummer, Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia - Musical Director and drummer, "Fabulous Singlets" Comedy Theatre in West End London, Record contract through London Records with "The Slim Ghosts", Record contract through Marquee Records with "E", Elvis impersonator "Eddie Youngblood" as Musical Director and resident drummer touring Australia's biggest Casinos.
As a sought after drummer and session musician, Stuart is also in demand with the cream of Australia's talent and has performed with Jimmy Barnes, Diesel, Glenn Shorrock and Little River Band, Richard Clapton, Glenn Tillbrook and UK Squeeze.
