dj sofie description
Meet DJ Sofie, a female composer, producer and DJ based in Sydney. Clients love her work because she has a knack of understanding the sound they are after, tapping into the unique style of each artist.
She also writes and releases her own music, winning her a scholarship in South Africa, film scores and musical collaborations globally.
Her unique DJ’ing style of lounge and nu jazz, performed on an Apple Powerbook G4 with cutting edge new DJ tools has led her to play for Australian Fashion Week, DGSE, Red Bull Australasia, Euroluce, at the Sydney Opera House and for top International Designers such as FLOS and Ross Lovegrove.
Most recently Sofie is composing electro-acoustic pieces utilising experimental audio software and found sounds. She recently completed a tour of Germany with Polish sound artist Dawid Szczeszny, which saw her play at the infamous Staalplaat Record Store in Berlin.
